Who Is Eligible? Age Limit for Madhyamik 2027
- Candidates whose date of birth is on or before 31 October 2012 are eligible to appear in Madhyamik 2027.
- The Board has told schools not to send the names of students born after 31 October 2012. No registration certificate is prepared for them.
- You must be a regular student of a recognised school whose registration was done in Class 9 (2025 batch).
- Students who missed registration: WBBSE has issued a notice giving a last opportunity to register valid students who missed the online registration. Ask your school and read the notice on the official website.
Madhyamik 2027 Form Fill Up (Registration for the Exam): How It Works
You do not apply directly to WBBSE. The school fills in and submits your details online for the exam.
What students should do:
- Wait for your school's notice after WBBSE announces the registration dates (expected in December 2026).
- Collect and submit the documents your school asks for. These usually include the birth certificate (for age proof) and the Class 9 marksheet and promotion certificate.
- Check every detail the school shows you: your name, date of birth, parents' names, subjects, photograph and signature.
- Pay the exam fee to the school if the school asks for it, and take a receipt.
- Submit before the deadline. Late submission may attract a late fee or may not be accepted.
- Keep a copy of the submitted form or the acknowledgement slip.
Mistakes cost time later. An error in your name or date of birth is a common reason for admit card and marksheet problems, so check it before the school submits the form.
Madhyamik 2027 Admit Card
- The Board sends the admit card to the school. Students collect it from their school.
- Schools are expected to receive the admit cards at least 10 days before the exam begins.
- Last year, the admit card was released on 20 January 2026, and a correction window remained open until 29 January 2026.
- Check the admit card immediately, including your name, date of birth, subjects, photograph and exam centre.
- If you find a mistake, tell your school at once so it can be corrected through the Board's correction process.
- Carry the admit card on every exam day. You will not be allowed to appear without it.
Madhyamik Result
- The 2027 result date has not been announced.
- Last year, the Madhyamik 2026 result was declared on 8 May 2026, with an overall pass percentage of 86.83% (reported figure, for about 9 lakh regular candidates).
- The result for 2027 is therefore expected around May 2027.
- Results are published on the official WBBSE website after evaluation is complete.
Preparation Tips for Madhyamik 2027
- Start with the routine. There is a gap of one day after Second Language and a weekend after Geography, so plan revision around these breaks.
- Give extra time to Mathematics and Physical Science, since they come together after the weekend (22 and 23 February).
- Use the 15 minutes of reading time to read the whole paper and choose the questions you will answer first.
- Solve previous year question papers and take timed mock tests of 3 hours.
- Finish the syllabus by January and keep the last month for revision only.
- Keep your admit card, pen and school ID ready the night before each paper.
- Practical exams will be notified separately, so ask your school for the schedule.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Ignoring the school's registration notice in December and missing the deadline.
- Wrong date of birth or name in the form, which is hard to correct later.
- Not checking the admit card until the day before the exam.
- Relying on social media dates. Follow wbbse.wb.gov.in and your school.
- Forgetting the practical exam because it is announced separately.
- Missing the 31 October 2012 date-of-birth rule when registering a student late.
