Why OAV Admission Is Popular
- Government-run schools with a good reputation across Odisha
- Low fees compared with private schools
- Strong focus on academics
- Seats in every region of the state
Because many students apply for a limited number of seats, early and careful preparation matters.
Preparation Tips for OAV Entrance
- Start in October or November, not after the form is out.
- Revise Class 5 basics (for Class 6 entry) in Maths, language and science.
- Practise multiple-choice questions daily, with a timer.
- Solve previous year papers and sample papers.
- Build reading habits with newspapers and storybooks for language and general awareness.
- Practise filling OMR-type answers neatly, if the notice mentions it.
- Keep the child relaxed. Short daily practice works better than long, tiring sessions.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Missing the application deadline. Dates are short, so do not wait.
- Entering wrong details in the form. Match school records and the birth certificate.
- Not keeping documents ready for admission.
- Skipping the official notice. Rely on the board website, not social media rumours.
- Missing the admission last date after selection.
